Halls of heaven

i never had a vision for this photo until…

It all began when I was walking through the archway of trees here at Fairchild Tropical Garden. It was a typical Saturday morning and my main focus was to capture still shots of butterflies.

It wasn’t until I looked up and saw this long trail ahead of me that looked like a pathway to some other place.

Is this what Heaven looks like?”

Growing up, I have always envisioned Heaven as a place with lush greenery, rushing waters, and a beautiful atmosphere. But while looking straight ahead where I was standing, to me it looked like the entrance to a peaceful eternity. Somewhere I’ve never been to…

Now I don’t even know why that question came into my mind. I wasn’t thinking about anything in that sense besides taking pictures of butterflies. But as I walked forward through this archway and began running shortly after, it was as if I was being invited to this new place I have never been to.

And in this snapshot, you can see a bright glare of light on the far end, as if there was something pure and good on the otherside.

“Is this where I’ll end up in after death?”
No, not yet, but I am certain it is where my dear friend is. And so I dedicate this photo to her.

Maritza, every year I think of you and the imprint you’ve left in my heart.

I still hear your laugh and feel your hugs when I think of you. And I know you’re in a beautiful place right now—for years actually.

Thank you for inspiring me.
